吉岡唯 (Yoshioka Yui) is YUI's real name.

Controversy

This matter caused a lot of controversy among YL members,[1] arguing it shouldn't be a topic of discussion since her name was never revealed by YUI herself.

Although she have never talked about this topic in the public media, An incuestionable proof was found in an old website related to bianco nero's lives[2]. On the page her name can be seen in kanji and also, a picture of young YUI with her name tagged on it.[3]

More proofs

YUI in her school days??

Another proof was an old picture taken from a yearbook. It was shown on TV and magazines. But fans objected the legitimacy of the picture saying it could be faked or that the girl in the picture might not be YUI at all.

Conclusion

At the end, fans have agreed to keep this as a open secret that shouldn't be divulged or used more than the necessary to respect YUI's decision of using her artistic name instead.
