Yellow tagged CDs are singles or albums with a yellow sticker attached to them. They can only be purchased on auction websites such as e-bay. It is hard to tell the difference between a yellow tagged and an official copy, because they are almost the same.
There are two noticeable differences:

  • The yellow/greenish sticker attached on the back or on the obi. The sticker has an unique serial code.
  • A printing on the CD's transparent center with the text "SAMPLE·LOANED"

It is believed that they are made for promotion purposes only, to be distributed for free on music stores and radio stations. Althoug they are rare items, the value of these copies is usually lower than legit ones.
