Wuu wan es gesture creado byYUI in her show YUI RADIO back in 2007. It became her characteristic greeting and a trend among fans.
History
YUI RADIO #18
In YUI RADIO's special show #18, she got a letter from fans asking about her upcoming appeareance on the show Music Station were she would perform Rolling star

Shigezou: YUI san, on Jan 26th, it will be Music Station live broadcast.
YUI: !!
Shigezou: YUI san, next week, next friday....
YUI: Aiks, what should I do? I'll get nervous.
Shigezou: YUI san, when you're on Music Station, as YUI radio's representative, can you do something (what is aizou?) for us which only us can understand?
YUI: What shall we do then?
Shigezou: All of us (YUI radio listeners) will support you~ Are you going to be fine that day? ganbaruyo YUI san in Music Station!! We will follow you for sure! We'll stick in front of the TV that night. Wouldn't it be great if YUI san willing to do some easy-to-understand gesture for us?

Shigezou: ¿Que tal si mueves las manos?
YUI: *mueve las manos*
Shigezou: Me pregunto si la audiencia será capaz de verlo o no...
YUI: *Tararea la melodía de Music Station moviendo las manos*
Shigezou: *tararea tambien*
YUI: Sin duda me pondré nerviosa.
Shigezou: Entonces solo mueve las manos o algo. Normalmente la gente hace eso en la presentación ¿Cierto?
YUI: ¿Ah si?
Shigezou: ¿Qué harías normalmente? Durante la presentación.
YUI: *Tararea la melodía de MSta* (53:09) ¡¡PAM!! sayonara~
Shigezou: Entonces si saludas con la mano tan fuerte como puedas será suficiente.
YUI: Me la pondré, luego adiós o algo como konnichiwa, o konbanwa. Si es algo como eso creo que podría hacerlo.
Entonces, justo como prometió, usó la pulsera en la presentación de Music Station; y luego la lució en el clavijero de su guitarra en el momento de la presentación.

YUI RADIO #20
Un mes después, unos fans mencionarían el tema en YUI RADIO #20 (7 de Marzo del 2007).
(Minuto 47 aprox)
Un fan envió un mensaje pidiendo a YUI que hiciera el wuu~wan en el próximo MSta. Entonces Shigezou-san le pidió a YUI que volviera a hacer el wuu~wan para los auditores que no tuvieron la oportunidad de verlo en el programa anterior. (49:15)
Finalmente ¡LO HIZO!
